Webster Encourages Applicants For Drought Grant

Federal Member for Mallee, Anne Webster is encouraging eligible community based organisations in Mallee to apply for a new grant opportunity currently open.

‘The Community Impact Program’, available through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund will be delivered by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) and the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) on behalf of the Australian Government.

Dr Webster encouraged eligible residents to express their interest by the 26th September, 2022 for the open grant.

“Community-based organisations will be eligible to apply for grants between $200,000 and $500,000 to strengthen community networks, capabilities and facilities supporting drought preparedness,” Dr Webster said.

“I encourage those interested to spread the word about this program. My office is available to provide assistance for those looking to submit an expression of interest or an application.

“The $5 billion Future Drought Fund is a forward-thinking initiative instigated by the Nationals. It is designed to help Australian farms and communities prepare for the impacts of drought. This is a program I am very proud of and have seen the positive impacts it has provided throughout Mallee.”
