Families and Communities Program 2024-25 Volunteer Grants Opportunity

I am pleased to invite not-for-profit community organisations in the Mallee electorate to participate in the 2024-25 Volunteers Grant program.

The Volunteers Grant program was an initiative of the Coalition government, continuing our commitment to assist and encourage volunteering in our local communities.

Previous grant rounds have been very successful, with a wide variety of projects completed. Here in the Mallee electorate, we were able to assist many organisations to undertake equipment upgrades and so much more.

Many of these projects would not have been possible without these grants and I am looking forward to working with local organisations to once again deliver improvements for our community.

The objectives of the Volunteer Grants are to:

• Help community organisations to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers
• Help community organisations to support the inclusion of vulnerable people through volunteering
• Encourage, support and increase participation in volunteering

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations to support efforts of Australia’s volunteers.

The process for making an application is as follows:

• Read the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
• Complete and return the Expression of Interest Form  before 5pm, Friday, 20 January 2025.
• Following a panel process, selected organisations will progress to stage two and be invited to submit a full application for the funding round through an online portal between 26 February 2025 and 12 March 2025.

A local Committee has been established to review each Expression of Interest application. To check your organisation’s eligibility and for further information about the program please refer to the Volunteer Grants 2024-25 – Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
