Women and girls in Stawell have access to new Female Friendly Change rooms at Central Park thanks to the Coalition’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
The new facilities were opened this week and made possible with a contribution of $655,000 from the former Coalition Government.
“It is pleasing to see these facilities now open to provide women and girls more opportunities to be active and involved in sport,” Member for Mallee Dr Anne Webster said.
“I was proud to have been able to secure funding for Northern Grampians Shire to undertake this valuable project in conjunction with further funding the Shire themselves, the Stawell Football Netball Club and the Victorian Government.
“I was unfortunately unable to attend this week’s opening due to being in Canberra for a Parliamentary sitting but I am looking forward to touring the facility soon.”
The Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program was a Coalition initiative to help local communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“During my first term in Government I delivered more than $90 million to Mallee under this program, funding vital infrastructure right across the electorate,” Dr Webster said.
“I call on the Albanese Labor Government to continue to provide funding for the LRCI and support our local communities.”
